Marketing research firm Newzoo has released a report on the 2010 video game sales, and while sales were down, the numbers were still impressive. During the past year, overall game sales fell 2 percent, but still managed to sell $24.7 billion. Consoles and PC/Mac boxed games also fell, with consoles only selling $10.6 billion, down 29 percent, while boxed computer games sold $2.1 billion, down 19 percent.
All other aspects of games rose, with the biggest riser being social networks. Sites like Facebook made $1.5 billion, which was up 66 percent from last year. You can check out the full breakdown of sales above. Keep in mind, these numbers are only for the United States.
